Friday, March 1st! YellowBrick Comedy's
New Material Night!
We've done a couple New Material Nights so far and they've been very popular. The idea is to bring in some of the top Twin Cities comedians and encourage them to work on their new jokes, premises and stories in front of a large and enthusiastic audience: you! It's not an open mic - we've recruited only popular comedians who are featured performers or headliners at clubs and theaters througout the midwest. We encourage risk taking and afford them longer sets so they can riff or work through some longer story premises that they might be developing. The environment is great and the shows have been a ton of fun!
Comedians tentatively scheduled to appear include:
Jason Schommer (Guthrie Theater, Opener for Louie Anderson)
Mary Jo Pehl (Comedy Central's "Mystery Science Theater 3000")
Jeff Pfoser (Boston Comedy Festival, Acme Comedy, The Improv)
Malory Manderfield (Acme Comedy's Funniest Person)
Abenezer Merdassa (Sisyphus Brewing Funniest in Minneapolis)
Lucy Zarns (Finalist "Funniest Person with a Day Job")
You may know Tiffany Norton as "Bangs" from KS95, or from her hilarious baking-themed web show "The Bitter Baker," or as the comic that Twin Cities Magazine called "the Best Local Comedian" back in 2018 - but however you know her, you're going to love her headlining performance at Fat Pants Brewing in Eden Prairie!
Wayne Burfeind is the featured performer. He's appeared with illustrious comedians including Doug Stanhope and Tom Rhodes, and has been a finalist in 24 comedy contests over his career. Wayne's stage persona is so amiable and unassuming you won't notice how far into left field he's taken you until you are already there.
James Wells is the host for the evening. James is a former winner of the House of Comedy's Funniest Person with a Day Job contest, was a finalist in the Funniest Person in Minneapolis and The Joke Joke Comedy Club contests, and has been called out as a "comedian to watch" by
